Anderson Family

I thought you guys might enjoy it if I posted the portaits that we had done the other day of the 15 Andersons...hehe. It was a little scary because out of the 6 group photos that they took, really, only one was an option because all the others were cutting people off. YIKES!!! I was kinda disappointed. Although all-in-all I guess it turned out alright. So this first one if the whole familia.

This next one is of grandma and grandpa with all the grandkiddos.

And this one is all of the Anderson boys with their new additions. All three were born this year.
From left to right. Chuck and Jessica (born in May), Orson and Savannah (born in October), and Daniel and David (born in July).

When Orson and I found out that we were expecting, I made matching onsies and bibs for all the cousins that were to be born that year. This is how we announced to his family that we were having Savannah. The other two families had already told the family, so when I pulled out the number 1 and number 2 jersies no one was surprised but when I pulled out number three I thought my mother-in-law was going to hit the roof. It took one of my sister-in-laws forever to get it. We practically had to spell it out for her. It was alot of fun. So here are the three new cousins in the matching little outfits.

This one is the favorite one. Savannah looks so tiny next to those two.

This next one is what having three little ones taking pictures together is really like. David was not happy, Savannah could care less, and Jessica was just kept looking at the camera.

Grandma wanted to see how "big" the kids were next to each other. Savannah truly had no cue what was going on. But I still think it turned out great.

This last one shows the back of the outfits, showing in what order they were born. Notice Savannah's nice little green smudge by her number three. Yeah she made a huge mess in her diaper. Every time we have taken pictures so far, she has done that. My, are we off to a great start!

It's Christmastime!!!

It's my favorite time of year....go check out this holiday wish from our family. Katie....thanks for the site.

OUR ELVES

Thanksgiving

So Thanksgiving was busy and fun. Wednesday we did the Anderson pictures. Wow....there are sure alot of us now. I think everyone did really well. We got the family ones done, the grandkids and grandparents, and even the baby cousins. Of course by the time we got to the babies...Savannah had decided to poop all over her matching outfit. So, in the pictures the outfit is not so cute. Despite that little annoyance the pictures turned out pretty cute. The lady took one of all the babies lying on the floor with their heads together looking up at her, and we did one with all the babies "standing" so you could really see the size difference. I can't wait till we get them. Thanksgiving was spent just chilling with the family. And then Friday, Orson and I went to Joanns Fabrics ($1/yd flannel sale), Target, and Sears. Nothing too exciting and nothing too early... that's for sure. Anyway, I'll post my turkey picture later.

Slow Motion

So, as you can tell be the frequency in my postings life has really slowed down for us. Monday Savannah and I had the car, so we ran all our errands. We took Orson to work at 10 and didn't get home until 5:30, Orson called at 6 and we were back out the door to pick him up. Savannah is now officially a US citizen. I got her birth certificate in wallet size so it's easy to carry around while we are traveling and such...it's so adorable. This week, I am working on a project. I have been looking for a baby sling forever, and I could never find one that fit, or they were too expensive. I really liked the style of the Maya Wraps, and after some research online I found a pattern to make one. I had the hardest time though tracking down the right rings to make it safe enough to carry a child, after looking all over the Austin area I finally tracked them down and they weren't too expensive. YEAH!!! So yesterday, I made my first one, and it turned out very cute. I'll post some pictures later. If you want one let me know.

Today we are going up to Georgetown to start the Holiday celebration. We are scheduled to take pictures with the whole Anderson clan. It has become our day before Thanksgiving tradition now that everyone is here in Texas. It should be interesting because this year we added three new cousins, the oldest infant being 5 months. So that brings our total to 15 people. I pity the photographer. hehehe. I am excited though, I think pictures are SO important in a family. And we are gonna do pictures of the babies together. I made some onsies that look like baseball jerseys...they say Anderson Cousins 2007 on the front and the back has our last name and a number 1-3 depending on when they were born. I hope it turns out really cute. Of course I will post pictures as soon as I get them.

Tomorrow is of course the traditional fest, although I think it might be a little more stressed induced seeing that we are having it at like 1pm. That means that we will be up at the crack of down cooking. I am in charge of making green bean casserole....my favorite. Man, I love holiday where we get to eat. Food is good!

Well, I think that's it for now. According to the countdown, Savannah and I are off to California in 11 days. Can't wait to see all you out there.

Friday

So, I totally feel awful for not posting, but we really haven't done much of anything this week. Orson and I have been trading off with the car because his radiator died. So Savannah and I have spent alot of time at home. Grandma and Grandpa Anderson came over Wednesday and brought cousins Alexandrea and Cali over to play. We watched Meet the Robinsons and went to the park. Savannah went on the merry-go-round for the first time and Mommy almost got sick, Grandpa went a little too fast. After they left we took a nap in the hammock. It's always a good day when we get to do that. Thursday we went up to Georgetown and hung out with grandma, grandpa, and Merridy. Merridy and I ran errands, I couldn't find anything I needed. Today Savannah just wanted to eat and be held. Every time she fell asleep and I would put her down, she would wake up again. I didn't get to eat or shower till Orson got home at like 2pm. Tonight Savannah and I went to a baby shower for a friend of mine. Savannah got kidnapped by my friend's mom...she said that she need to practice being a grandma. For a while I had forgotten that I even had brought her. Opps! We had a great time. Now it's bed time, and for once little Missy miss doesn't want to go down...she is just crying and crying. Hopefully she will wear herself out soon. Well, I'd better go rescue my husband from the crazy girl.

Busy Weekend

Unintentionally, I have created a behavior pattern I guess. Somehow I can never keep up on the weekend. Sorry. This weekend, Savannah got to go to her first birthday party. My friend Erika ha a party for her daughter who was turning one. It was fun, they went the whole nine yards. They had a train, a pony, bounce houses, and face painting. Well, obviously Savannah is too little to do most of that stuff, but I did go get her face painted. At first we tried to stencil on this really cute flower, but she didn't like the fact that we were holding the stencil on her face and she kept squirming, so we wiped of her face and she went right back to sleep. So then we had them just freehand a flower and it turned out so cute.

Sunday we were off to another birthday party. This time it was for Logan's fifth birthday. The theme was Thomas the train. I made a welcome sign, a banner, some dangling trains to hang on the wall, gift bags, and the cutest little conductor hat you've ever seen. Unfortunately, I didn't get any GOOD pictures of the hats, but you can see them in this one. Also, if you look on the wall above the cake you can see my Thomas dangler and a little bit of the banner.

The cake they had was incredible, as you can see by the pictures. The lady that made the cake had never done a Thomas cake, but it sure doesn't show. The kids had a lot of fun. We did pizza and cake and then they got to go bowling. Let me tell you, getting shoes for 16 kids is insane especially when you are trying to figure out what size shoes they wear. All in all it was a ton of fun, but I won't be sad if I don't have to cut out or see another Thomas the Tank Engine for a while.

No exciting plans for this week, but I did forget to mention something. Savannah and I will be making an appearance in CA the first week in December, then we will be flying to Oregon for a few days. We are so excited to see our family and friends and can't wait for you all to meet her. Let me know if there is a specific day or time that we need to get together.

Chunky Monkey on the way

So today we went back to the doctor's so they could weigh her and make sure that she was putting on weight properly. She is now officially 8 pounds 7 ounces...back up above her birth weight. She put on a whole pound in a week, crazy little girl. I'm grateful though. A healthy baby makes a happy mommy.
Tonight as I was putting her to sleep, we were rocking in the rocking chair and I was stroking her forehead, and I realized that I could really do that forever and be happy. It's funny how little itty bitty things like that cement a place in your heart. I love spending quiet time just watching her, or rubbing her back or something. Kids are the greatest.

Sorry, I'm a slacker...

So, things around here have been pretty boring. We went to her Doctor's appointment on Thursday and they said that she looked good. She still wasn't gaining weight like they wanted so now, I have to wake her up and feed her every four hours. He also wants me to supplement my feedings with a little bit of formula, to get her some more "groceries" as he called it. She is doing well with that and usually will take 2-3 ounces of formula in addition to what she is getting from me.
Friday, was spent running around....just like the rest of the week. And Saturday, we were absolutely boring. Orson made us breakfast in bed, and other than that I stayed in bed resting and sleeping for I'd say about 75% of the day. I felt bad because that was really the only day we had to do anything as a family. Oh, well. I'll adjust to life as a mom one day.
Yesterday, we went to church and she looked so cute. My sister-in-law and I had bought matching dresses at Wal-mart and it fit her pretty well...I thought it would be too big. I took a pic and I'll post it later. I promise to do better this week. Although don't expect a post today we are really doing nothing.
