Springtime

Lately the weather has been so great here in Austin. Nice and cool, beautiful blue skies, minimal bugs biting me. The kids and I have been spending a good amount of time outside enjoying the great blessing. Here are some pics of the kiddos you might enjoy. Some of you reading my blog who have been around me in Austin a while might recognize this little beauty from a long while ago. Savannah just loves playing in it.

My ABSOLUTE favorite place to be on a spring day...my HAMMOCK! You must agree that my little ones look awfully sweet in it.

Later that night Savannah was outside playing as I was making dinner. All the sudden I noticed that it was pretty quite, so I peeked outside to have a look. Daddy and her were having some time just talking together. I love moments like these, the really do take your breath away. I am a lucky lady!

I loved how his legs became hers in this one.

My daughter has a new talent...climbing. She climbs everything, especially our kitchen chairs, to get whatever happens to be on the table. We had just had a baby shower at the house, and Savannah thought she would help clean up the rest of the cake. What am I gonna do with this girl.

She also loves to EAT, but most of you already know that. Luckily for me she will try just about anything. These are a few pics from our shopping trip this past weekend, a local farmers market of ours had some local grapefruits to try. I think the pictures speak for themselves.

My Lil Hicks

HeHeHe.....yup... they're TEXANS!

AGAIN!?!?!?

So yes...it happened again! I wrecked yet another car. It happened On Feb. 17th, I was driving Orson's car, and it was raining. I was trying to slow down to take a turn, when my anti-lock brakes kicked in leaving me with no traction. I couldn't slow down, and I had a decision to make...hit the median across the way or try to take the turn? I decided to try to take the turn, and hope for the best. Well I guess my prayers were answered, in an unusual way I'd say. As I took the corner my back end slipped out from behind me and fishtailed. I tried to counter steer, but it didn't work. I ended up spinning, my front hit the guardrail, and then was followed by my back end. I ended up just about in the median facing oncoming traffic. YEAH! Anyway, yes, I did have both of the kids with me, and yes, we are all okay.

At first glance it was a minor accident. Unfortunately I hit the rail just right to bend the frame. And, because it was an older vehicle, the damage ended up being more than the value of the car. So we are now looking to replace not one, but two vehicles. Needless, to say my brain is swirling with options, truly I feel like I have looked at every vehicle listing in the region. So wish us luck on finding a vehicle that fits our needs and our major lack of budget.

New Addiction

So I have recently downloaded a trial version of Adobe Photoshop Elements, and I am in love. Well with that and also we website call Designer Digitals. Elements is way easier for me to use than the full version of photoshop, and the designer digitals website offer some free digital scrapbooking stuff. So between the two I have been creating and playing all weekend. I wish I had the $100 so I could actually buy elements, my trial runs out in two weeks. Anyway I think y'all should check them out, I think between these two places, I might actually get my kids scrapbooks done. Yeah for me. Here are some examples of what I have been doing.

Elements also makes it really easy to edit my images, even doing more advanced things like removing people from the images, like this one, I actually took out Orson's head.

Rent-a-Person...another video

Okay, so the beginning of this one is REALLY wierd but it also is a great little movie.

Have a Few Minutes??? Need a Smile???

So I was catching up on some of my blog reading today, and came across this post through a friend of mine. You've gotta check it out. You won't be able to resist smiling. It's always nice to get a reminder that the world really is a beautiful place. The guy who made this is my hero of the day!

So Cute

So I am in love with this idea. My mom sent it to me, saying that she liked it for her house. Look at how they label the shelves....they are using scrabble letters. HOW AWESOME. Sorry mom, I think I might have to use this first.
