Savannah's Birthday

I can hardly believe that a year has past. My baby girl is no longer a baby, she is now a little girl. We had a party/BBQ with family and friends for her on Saturday. The weather was amazing and we had a great time. The theme for her party was 1 is fun.

I got chalk for all the older kids to color on our fence with, but of course I had to lead the way. Savannah just wanted to eat it. I kept finding pink on her mouth from the chalk.

Look at all those teeth and her awesome blue eyes.

All the Anderson grandkids came over to celebrate. Here is Grandma Anderson with the three '07 kids.

Grandpa Anderson was excited for a reason to get outside and cook. He made really yummy french fries fro everyone. See his pro set-up, I laughed when I walked outside. You can't see it but, all along the edge of the table he had a ton of different spices and seasonings.

Orson BBQed burgers and dogs for the group. He said he's finally mastered the art of the perfect burger.

The older kids loved to just be able to run around and play.

Here is the cake I made for her birthday, it shows the theme that was on her plates and stuff. I loved the handprints on everything even though I don't like the ones I made.

In true Anderson tradition I made her a little chocolate cake just for her. As you can see she had no idea what to do with the candle other than want to grab it.

When she started off with her cake she just wanted to enjoy the frosting, but as you'll see she soon figured out what she was supposed to do.

Once she got tired of the frosting she flipped the cake over onto her lap, and really got into it.

I know you can't really read it, but I loved her little cake napkins, they said..."the cake's on me." I thought it made perfect sense.

Her cousin left a plate of cake on the table and Savannah then took that as a cue to start using a fork to eat her cake with.

She wanted Mommy to taste her cake, sharing is really fun for her, as you can tell by her expression.

This is all that was left over from her little cake, she ate it almost all gone.
Pretty good for her first taste of chocolate cake.
After about a half an hour of her eating cake, I wrapped her up in a towel and straight to the bathtub we went to clean her up. There was frosting everywhere...I swear her nose was full of it.

After her bath I put on her new big girl jammies
(no feet), then we went back downstairs to orejoin the party. Here she is opening her presents. Thanks to everyone who was able to make it to her party. I know she had a great day, she was spoiled rotten as always. Here's to another great year with our little girl.
