Halloween

Today was a busy day for us. We went to Orson's work for a Halloween party. Everyone loved her and passed her around. We had burgers and chips with homemade guacamole. Yummy! Then we came home and helped decorate the park in our neighborhood for the party tonight. By the time that was all done it was like 5pm, and the family was all over. Savannah literally slept the day away. I fed her at like 11:30 and she didn't wake up till like 5pm to eat, then she slept again until 8:30pm. She's nuts. After we ate, we got all the cousins together and went to the park for a costume parade and cupcakes. It was fun to see all the kiddos from the neighborhood all dressed up. Then of course we took everyone trick-or-treating, even Savannah went. Brittany and Bryson were so cute about taking up her candy bag to get her goodies like they were getting. By the end of time night the kids were tired and wound up all at the same time. Sugar does crazy things to a kid's body. All in all it was a good day, but I didn't get my nap, so I am ready for bed. FYI...we go for our two week check-up tomorrow morning. I'll post the results tomorrow.

Trunk or Treat

Tonight was our ward Trunk or Treat activity. We took Savannah in her costume, she was asleep so she spent the night in her stroller. We trunk or treated for her. As you can see by the following pictures so got a pretty good stash for being asleep. Tomorrow we get to go to Daddy's work and have a party, then come home and trick or treat with the cousins. Sounds like it's gonna be a busy day. Night Night!!!

Sorry that this one is blurry.

A funny video

So I was uploading some pictures to another website and came across a video that you might enjoy. This was taken at the hospital nursery. It shows that she is already pampered and enjoys the finer things in life. Watch what happens when they rub her back. She's so cute.

USER ERROR

So this past week I have been sad because no one was posting any comments. Then as I was looking closer, I realized that there was no way to do so. So, the problem is now remedied, and you are now free to comment away. Sorry for the confusion.

okay, okay just a few more

So I couldn't just narrow it down to four or five.....You know me better than that!

This is Savannah's Honorary Cousin Logan....he loves his Savannah. He was so excited to hold her. On the way over to get the pictures taken and on the way home, he sat next to her in the car holding her hand the entire time....it was really cute.

First Studio Pictures

Today we took Savannah to get her first pictures taken. She did really well, and we seriously took FOREVER in the camera room. Desi was supposed to take them but she forgot her glasses, so Janie took them and Desi posed her. It was really funny, at one point Desi was getting Savannah ready for a naked bum shot on her tummy and Desi said to Janie, "okay, GO," and so in response...Savannah WENT...all over her black muslin. Opps...at least we know that she is obedient. Sorry Des!!! We ended up spending WAY more than we had planned but we got our Christmas cards/announcements done, and got some really cool family portraits as well. So all in all I'm good with what we got. Here are a few of my favorites.

Grandparents....let me know if there are any that you want...I have the CD and can print whatever you need. I can't wait to get the pictures....We ordered one for her room that has nine different pictures on it. It's gonna be amazing.

P.S.

Today was her first day at church, and she did wonderfully. She slept through most of the meeting. She woke up about a half hour before relief society was over and she just layed in my lap content to suck on her pacifier. She was adorable. I'll have to take a picture of her in her dress...I forgot today, by the time we got home, Savannah was hungry and mommy was tired.

One More for the Day

Savannah's First trip to Sea World

We had so much fun on Friday...it was great to see all the cousins together. Us Big kids of course had to ride the new ride Journey To Atlantis (a water roller coaster), which by the way was totally worth the wait. I think we went on it twice in a row without getting off. The weather was perfect, there were no crowds, the Halloween characters were the best. All in all....score one point for Sea World.

My Sister-in-law is amazing

So Friday we celebrated my nieces birthday by going to Sea World. Merridy made the world's coolest cake...I was talking to her on the phone before she came over and was asking her about how the cake was coming along. She was fed up and it sounded like the cake was not cool. Any way so this is what she brings over.

Yeah and she wants me to believe that she's not a professional pastry chef. LOL. I was totally impressed. It's a work of art.

Fun Firsts

We are such goofy parents. Yesterday we took Savannah to Sea World for her first visit (we had a good excuse to go, we went with Orson's family to celebrate our nieces birthday). We dressed her up in her little cowgirl costume, man was she cute. She did really well all day, except for the fact that she didn't want to eat well. I guess it was the heat. We got lots of pictures. I promise to post them later today, as the camera is downstairs.
Also Thursday we took her to the doctors to get her first check up. They said that everything looked great. The only thing they wanted to keep an eye on was her weight. But the doctor said not to worry since my milk had just come in and it is normal to lose weight the first week. When we first got to the exam room, we stripped her down to get her ready and she had completely messed her diaper and gotten it all over her outfit. Good thing mommy had extra clothes in her diaper bag. Score 1 point for Mommy!!! Oh yeah and she grew a quarter inch since she was born.
So, it's our first weekend alone, well sorta we are gonna be with the Andersons tonight. We are taking Savannah to Georgetown to a Trunk-or-Treat where Orson can show her off to all the people he grew up with. Should be fun and I'm sure we will get more photos there. Maybe all the cousins in their costumes. Well, I hope that is enough of an update for now. See Ya!

Fun Times

Families are the best. Over the past few days I have been very blessed to have my in-laws in and out of the house. Helping with household chores, playing with Savannah, allowing my to sleep, and making me laugh harder than I have in a long time. My sister-in-law Merridy came over again today. Most of the day we just chatted, and hung out. She helped me start sewing the fleece sleepers that I am making for Savannah. Her and I get along so well, it's almost scary. I love her tons, and am so glad that she is back in Austin. We ended the night with a girls shopping trip to Target. I got some gifts for my nieces birthday, and a really cute little play mat for Savannah. I hope it keeps her entertained when we put her down for a few minutes. Well, I'm pooped...almost literally so I am off to bed. I'll post more pictures soon.

1st night home alone

Well, needless to say like anyone else's experience. Savannah had decided that she did not want to go to sleep. She just wanted to lay there with the lights on. If the lights got turned off or she got put down, she was not a happy camper. So at midnight I decided to go rock her to sleep in her room. I fed her and there we slept in the rocking chair for the next two hours. I took her back to our room and put her in the bassinet and within 10 minutes she was awake complaining again. I picked her up again and took her back into her room and fed her for another hour, brought her back and tried again. This time Orson picked her up and for the next hour played the whole when you put me down I wake up game. So I finally gave up, picked her up and had her sleep on my chest which she did for the next four hours thankfully. I'm sure it could have been much worse, but man was I tired this morning.
Orson's parents came over to help today. KaeLynn helped with the baby so that I could sleep and Phil helped Orson get my car up and running. Because they were there I was able to take a shower and get some much needed rest. Hopefully tonight will go better.

Down to the wire

We went to our last appointment today and the doctor said that I had progressed some, but pretty slowly, so she had me scheduled for an induction on Monday. I burst out in tears and my poor doctor didn't know what to do. I just wasn't ready for that. But we talked and decided that due to alot of factors we would go ahead and do it tomorrow. So...we shall be at the hospital at 6 o'clock in the morning to be induced. Hopefully things will go well and it won't take ALL DAY. I am excited but at the same time a little nervous because I don't really know what to expect other than sometime tomorrow I will be holding my little girl. Thanks for all love and support, we love you all and can't wait to introduce you to Savannah. I'm off to take a nice long, warm shower and then hit the sack. Hopefully this household will get a little more sleep tonight. SEE YOU SOON!

Maternity Portraits

I know that I have gotten a little carried away today but you all love me...right?!?!?!? I decided to post a few of the portraits from our maternity session. The last pics before our family ones! Can you believe it?

Just a nice traditional one...we have never done the black....what do you think?

Ahh....we are so adorable! This is actually my favorite one.

Goofy kids....Savannah has no hope of being normal.

More of Savannah's Room

Today I kidnapped my sister-in-law Merridy and we finished the room. It so totally awesome. We hung the border, put up the curtain rod, hung up the little accessories and cleaned up the room. It turned out just like I wanted.

Okay, so now I don't know w
hat Savannah is waiting for. I seriously need to go into labor! EVERYONE IS WAITING!!!

P.S. Here is a pic of her Halloween costume.
Made to Match her room. How Cute!!!

Let's Get Started

So, I figured that if I wanted any chance at success with this blog, I had better start it before Savannah gets here...which by the way if you don't already know will be Thursday the 18th at the latest. As of now things are going well, just progressing slowly. My mom flew in on the 5th and we have been running around ever since. We have picked up a few last minute necessities, ordered the crib, shopped till we dropped and otherwise had a blast. My mother-in-law came over on Friday and helped me paint the mural in Savannah's room. It turned out amazing. And part of it is magnetic, so I have made little animals and characters that can move around on it. I.E. those cute little cows you see. This room is seriously gonna be the cutest thing ever. Here are some pictures so you can see what the mural looks like. The bedding is called Lil' Cowpoke...hence the name of this blog. She's gonna be our little Texan.

So I hope that you guys like the room, it looks way better in person, but I know that some of you aren't gonna be able to see it for a while, so I thought I'd share it with you now. Love you all and hope to be able to share the good news of her birth with you soon.
